      TDMA

TDM lends itself perfactly  to digital data communications. So, as telecommunications went digital using pulse code modulation (PCM). The PCM-TDM combination is used extensively and, when used with multiple nodes, is known as time division multiple access (TDMA). read more...

To perform the Experiment please follow the procedure:

1.  Install the run time engine program to operate each VI.

2.  Activate the functions generator and scope by pressing the  from the tool bar, and then press the  in each.

3.  Adjust the function generator using its soft controls for an output with the following specifications.

Wave Form Shape

Sinusoidal

Frequency

500 Hz

Amplitude

4 Vp-p

DC Offset

0 V

4.  Verify that the system is still encoding, decoding and reconstructing message-0

5.  Verify that the system is still encoding, decoding and reconstructing message-1

6.  Adjust the scope as follows:

Channel 0

Channel 1

Volts/Div

1 V

1 V

DC offset

0 V

0 V

Time/Div

500 µ sec

500 µ sec

7.  Run the oscilloscope at Ch (0) and take a screen shoot for the input signal.

8.  Run the oscilloscope at Ch (1) and take a screen shoot for the input signal.

9.  Compare the original maessage-2 with the reconstructed version of it. (Note the two signals should be the same ( ignoring phase shift))

10. Which FOTEx module is time division multiplexing the digital data?

11. Which FOTEx module is demultiplexing the digital data?

12. only one patch lead in the entire set-up is being time division multiplexed. Call the instructor to your work station and indicate that lead to him or her.

13. calculate the frequency of the lowest-frequency alias on the PCM decoder module's output.
